How Artemis employs pilates

Artemis Pilates

Pilates is a method of mind-body conditioning.  It was originally developed in the early 20th Century by Joseph Pilates. Since its inception, Pilates has seen a steady increase in popularity and is now one of the most popular fitness programs in the world.  Pilates improves your posture,  increases flexibility and strengthens and tones your muscles without adding bulk. Pilates emphasizes awareness of breathing and alignment of the spine, with an aim to strengthen the deep muscles that support the spine. Pilates exercises can be done on a mat or on specially designed equipment which use springs for resistance.  These exercises will help tone your entire body, focusing on developing a strong core (flat abdominals and a strong back).

Artemis Pilates is an in-home studio located in the Cascades/Potomac Falls section of Sterling, VA. Our studio is provides a comfortable environment for our clients to learn new Pilates techniques on outstanding equipment. The studio includes 2 Allegro Reformers, a Step Barrel, and Wunda Chair.  All of the equipment is supplied by Balanced Body, the world leader in Pilates apparatus.
